The Town of Orleans engaged DiMarinisi & Wolfe to design a renovation and addition to its existing Town Hall after prior attempts by other architects to design either a new Town Hall or a Town Hall renovation with a minor addition failed to garner approval from the Orleans voters. D&W carefully reprogrammed the Town Hall space needs, assessed the existing building conditions and evaluated various site and building development options. The result of D&W's design investigations was a new plan that provided the much needed space by retaining the original 1923 building, demolishing the substandard 1950's addition and building a new wing with the same architectural character as the original building.
The D&W design provides the Town of Orleans with the administrative office and meeting spaces it needs, restores the architectural character of the original 1923 building, makes the Town Hall accessible, develops the site so that it protects an adjacent wetland, and provides better access and more parking for the Town Hall and the adjacent Little League ball field.
The Town Hall is completed and has been occupied since January 2007.
